Job description:

I am looking for collaboration on a project for a customer of mine that has a very tight deadline.

The project is to translate from English to Portuguese (Portugal).

There are 25 files with various word counts, as follows:

If you have TRADOS software this is a plus as I can provide you with the memory that I have created so far.

DEADLINE is: AUGUST 8th, 2006.

Customer is offering 0,065 EURO per word (~0.08 USD per word).

PLEASE NOTE: Since there are numerous words repeated the customer agrees to pay 0.05 USD/word for repeat words and the 0.08 USD/word rate is for non-repeat or new words.

Translation of subtitles for 55 min program - environmental

We are selecting 1 freelance translator and 1 freelance revisor for the translation of subtitles of a 55 min program from English (US) into Portuguese (IB). Only natives from Portugal will be considered for this project.

Subject: The program features interviews with surfers regarding environmental issues. Some surfing terminology research may be required.

Timeline: The translator would need to deliver by Monday May 15th and the revisor would receive the file by Monday May 15th to deliver by Tuesday May 16th 5PM NY time.

Applicant requirements:

a) Applicants must have professional experience in translating subtitles from English (US) into their native language.

b) Be native speakers of the target language and have their residence in Portugal or in the United States/Canada/UK/Australia/NZ.

c) Candidates are preferred to have worked/studied for approximately 2 years in the US/Canada/UK/Australia/NZ

d) Applicants need to have high-speed internet at home so that they can download and play large WMV files on a PC (NOT Mac).

Localizer/Translator

Job description:

Longtail Studios is looking for a freelance Localizer/Translator to translate one of our video games from Portuguese (Brazil) into Portuguese (Portugal).

The ideal candidate will be able to tailor the pop-culture references of this game to an Portuguese consumer base and become familiar with the game characters and their individual personalities.

The Localizer/Translator must be a native Portuguese speaker with a high level of proficiency in English. He/She should be familiar with Portuguese pop-culture.
